Trump sees dead voters

(via When I opened my Los Angeles Times today, I spotted a letter written by someone I knew when I was a teeny tiny kid. He grew up to be awfully smart, as you'll see below. Trump has made much of how "voter fraud" (which is virtually non-existent) will hand the ("rigged!!!") presidential election over to Hillary because... everyone, but everyone, is conspiring against Don-Don. Everyone. In the whole wide world. (Reality check: Voter suppression is a much bigger problem than voter fraud.) As so many do, my very informed, very cool childhood friend set the Ignoramus in Chief straight. Here [...]

“Trump turned in the worst ― and I mean worst ― debate performance in modern times.”

As the airing of the first presidential debate approached, many of us were feeling a little queasy. What if Trump managed to check his lunacy just long enough-- 90 minutes-- to convince more voters that he was competent enough to hold the most powerful office there is? What if Hillary Clinton blew it, losing even more ground to a sub-human wrecking ball? Thankfully, that didn't happen. Thankfully, Donald Trump was as repugnantly and recklessly Trumpy as always. Donald failed miserably, and everything I've read, seen, and heard confirmed that. I searched and searched for the video in which Howard Fineman echoed what he [...]

Donald Trump Jr. said what?! Here we go again.

Yesterday, I posted Memo to Team Trump: “Don’t make comparisons to Nazi Germany” in which I spotlighted a deplorable statement made by deplorable Donald Trump Jr. Well, here we go again. This time the focus is on a very sexist 2011 tweet by a very sexist Don-Don Jr. Big hat tip to a pal for this one, who aptly said to me in an email, "He's a little sh*t off the old block, ain't he?" Enjoy: Ever notice that if u get a herd of mothers together they arent physically capable of talking about anything but birth pregnancy & diapers? — Donald Trump Jr. (@DonaldJTrumpJr) [...]

Memo to Team Trump: “Don’t make comparisons to Nazi Germany”

Donald Trump Jr. made a deplorable statement today. The immediate backlash was deafening. Here's an example: Everybody knows to what @DonaldJTrumpJr was referring when he mentioned ‘a gas chamber,’ and there’s only one word for it: deplorable. — Eliot Engel (@RepEliotEngel) September 15, 2016 Well, apparently not everybody: @GottaLaff why? It wasn't that long ago the state used gas chambers to kill the condemned. But that doesn't fit the spin? — Mary (@ScribbledPink) September 15, 2016 @GottaLaff @BreakingNews Death penalty only for Jews? Didn't know ?? Educate yrslf/get serious — Deplorable Eyes? ? (@Birdseyeview_8P) September 15, 2016 @GottaLaff only uptight [...]

The look on Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway’s face: Priceless

I'm still under the weather, so keeping it short today. Lawrence O'Donnell has been doing one must-watch show after another these days. So, watch, enjoy, and share: For months, Lawrence O'Donnell has been waiting for the Trump campaign to be asked one very simple question about his taxes. It finally happened and the Trump campaign manager was stunned.

“Today is the day the political news media lost its mind”

Twitter lost its mind yesterday, in part because the political news media lost theirs, as you can see if you take a few minutes to watch the segment below from The Last Word. I spent hours batting away Trump trolls and even fellow Democrats who came up with every conspiracy theory you can imagine (and some you can't) about Hillary Clinton's health. I'm not a huge fan of some of Hillary's policies, but I'll be damned if I'll entertain such idiocy. "Idiocy?" you ask. Yes, idiocy. Here's one example of a message I got from someone I ended up unfollowing [...]

“I don’t think [Trump] just flunked, I think he crashed and burned spectacularly”

Last night on MSNBC's The Last Word, Lawrence O'Donnell and his guests discussed the fiasco known as Donald Trump. Take 6 minutes to confirm your worst fears about Trump and how he spectacular flunked the commander in chief test: Donald Trump says if Vladimir Putin says good things about him, he'll say good things about him. Pulitzer prize-winning journalist David Cay Johnston & Naval War College professor Tom Nichols react. Tom Nichols, a conservative, had this to say about Disastous Don-Don's continuing descension into sub-ignorant depths: "I don't think he just flunked, I think he crashed and burned spectacularly. We've gotten used to [...]

Tweet o’ the Day, with special thanks to comma-challenged Mike Pence

On my weekly appearance on the Nicole Sandler, we do a segment called My Tweet Spot in which I spotlight tweets that make an impression on me. Today's tweet comes courtesy of the politics editor at TIME's D.C. Bureau. I don't feel the need to add further comment. This was letter perfect: Make Commas Oxford Again — Ryan Teague Beckwith (@ryanbeckwith) September 8, 2016 Here is the Mike Pence tweet in question: Our choice has never been more clear. We can either elect my running mate, a bold truth-teller, or the most dishonest candidate in history — Mike Pence (@mike_pence) [...]

Dallas Morning News recs Hillary, Trump wrecks GOP (VIDEO)

The Dallas Morning News hasn't endorsed a Democrat for president in 75 years, since before World War II in fact. That changed today with their surprise endorsement of Hillary Clinton. And that's a big deal, considering what's at stake. As the Los Angeles Times put it: "Texas has long been a stronghold for Republicans, and it is a must-win state for Trump." Yikes. Or as former Texas governor Rick Perry once put it: Or as many of us who have read the endorsement have put it: Here's an excerpt (bolding mine): Trump's values are hostile to conservatism. He plays on fear — [...]

Trump surrogate drops nugget: Trump “legally can” release his tax returns despite audit (VIDEO)

Today on MSNBC, Tamron Hall grilled Donald Trump surrogate A.J. Delgado on Trump's taxes and immigration lies and flip-flops, or as the mainstream media calls them, "pivots." She also questioned her about Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi who decided not to open an investigation into Trump University after receiving a $25,000 Trump Foundation donation. Imagine that. Delgado even let it drop that Trump could legally release those pesky tax returns. Watch: Trump in 2014, while he was under audit at the time: "If I decide to run for office, I'll produce my tax returns, absolutely. And I would love to do [...]
