History is being made today in Wisconsin.  Whether or not the Democrats are successful in recalling enough Republicans to take back control of the Wisconsin state Senate, the fact that today’s votes are happening is a moment that we should all cherish.

It’s people power.  And the government here in the US is supposed to be of, for and by the people.  It’s Democracy in action!

Even though the corporate media isn’t reporting on it, more than 45,000 Verizon workers are on strike!

I believe we are at a seminal moment for our generation.  We can either embrace the spirit of the ’60’s and stand up for our rights, or allow the corporations to take over and become a fascist oligarchy.

I choose the former.

Today on the show, I’ll speak with Norwood Orrick a Verizon telephone worker and member of IBEW 824 in Tampa. Although his local is not on strike, he’s written about the strike for Daily Kos... and also editor of Labor News for Progressive Congress News.

Stephanie Taylor– co-founder of the Progressive Change Campaign Committee – is on the ground in Wisconsin, and she’ll check in with us to talk about what’s happening there this morning.

And it’s Tuesday… that means a visit from GottaLaff of The Political Carnival.  We’ll talk about these stories and more:
