First of all, what Katie was trying to say here goes far deeper than what 140 characters allow, so I’m not surprised you think it’s bizarre. But I promise you, it is not. When you are talking to someone….can you hear them while you’re talking? No. When you ask questions like “WTF does that mean?!?”, do you think the person on the receiving end feels like you are “just trying to ask a question” or deserve a polite answer or an answer at all? What if you are the millionth person to insist that they educate you on this subject? Because that has been happening to minorities their whole lives. The best part is that they GAVE YOU AN ANSWER!! They handed you the term “intersectional erasure,” which has been around for over 20 years, and clearly defines the issue they are having. If you didn’t know what it meant, then step out of the conversation, Google it like the rest of the world and LEARN. Oh, and then don’t turn around and call people “bitch” and “racist” and act like a victim….because then you just deserve what the faceless masses are saying. You want people to stop? You want them to see you’re a nice person willing to learn? Then start acting like a nice person willing to learn. If you think these people on this side of the argument (one you still don’t understand the crux of) are so low and terrible then BE ABOVE IT by not reacting like a wounded animal. The second you say “I’m sorry for trying to get Elon James fired and I know that I’m ignorant on this subject and will do my best to read and learn about it because I want to be a true ally” then this will start to subside. You are not a victim here and Patricia Arquette doesn’t need you to be her White Knight. Remember, the ONLY words Arquette spoke that people are taking issue with are the following: “…and all the gay people and all the people of color that we’ve fought for to fight for us now!” There is an excellent article by a Howard University professor that clearly and articulately explains why those words rubbed people the wrong way and you should read it about 10 times through, every day, until you finally understand that ABSOLUTELY NO ONE is taking issue with the words “All women”: http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/opinion/commentary/chi-patricia-arquette-oscars-speech-black-women-feminists-20150224-story.html I do honestly wish you the best and hope that in the next months or years to come you get to a place of understanding and compassion for people’s hurt feelings that are not just your own.
Doesn’t that tweet just mean that when you’re asking questions, you’re talking, and that it’s not until you stop talking that you start listening? If you’re constantly barraging someone with questions, and you never stop to listen with an open mind to their answers, you’re not actually listening.
Also, I’ve just looked it up, and the original question Nicole is still mad at Elon for not answering more congenially is this:
“‘erased intersection’? WTF are you talking about”
Forgive me for saying so, but that’s not actually a question at all.

I really want to go on twitter and engage these people. Try to hold a mirror up to them to show just how ugly they’ve become on this topic. But I doubt they’re too blind now to see themselves. The picture isn’t me, btw.
For some reason, Laffy’s photo is showing up next to lots of people. I’ll have to go in and try to figure out what’s going on.. Will try to fix it. But thank you Speedbird_9, this has gone way beyond any sense of decency already. They lie about what I say then accuse me of lying. Today, I apparently said something to the effect of “now we’ll talk about really important things like ISIS.” Right. The show is posted. Show me where I said that and I’ll give you a prize. They have no shame.
I just went in and reset the settings, but it didn’t fix it. Ugh. And I’m brain dead from lack of sleep. I’ll give it another try later. Or maybe someone who knows Disqus can offer some advice?
No worries. At first it bugged me, but now I find it kind of amusing. It’s like I’m commenting all over the place, responding to myself. Wait! That’s a good idea! I’m gonna do that now!

My photo’s been showing up everywhere! Know what that means? I am fair and balanced and see all sides of every argument. #ComicRelief

What do you mean by that, Laffy? Are you calling me a liar? Why I oughta!
Nono, you misconstrued my words! You’re the most honest person I know, Laffy!
That’s better. Now STFU.
Okaybye.
Now Laffy, either you’ve been hacked or do you suffer MPD? 😉 It produce a chuckle.
You still have my photo… soooooo… Maybe it’s YOU who hacked in! Oh em gee!! 😉
Yes, you have detected my clever use of your image as a disguise.
Wait, so you’re not me? How will I explain that to myself?
Contradictory statement
Ya think?
And the further exchanges on twitter are even more disheartening.
