I got the email last night that Randi Rhodes was taking a sick day today, and asking me if I’d be available to fill in. Of course, it’s always my pleasure and honor!
And I’ve got one hell of a show for you today….
In the first hour, I’ll be joined by one of my favorite members of Congress, Alan Grayson. Unfortunately, the people of Florida’s 8th District fucked up big time by not re-electing one of the few Democrats with the balls to stand up say what he really thinks.
Congressman Grayson didn’t let his loss deter him from doing just that on the floor of the House yesterday, speaking out against extending the Bush tax cuts for the very wealthy:
He certainly knows how to make a point. And I’ll definitely ask him to keep speaking out for the rest of us!
In hour two, I’ll be joined by one of my favorite journalists, Rolling Stone’s Matt Taibbi. His latest piece, “Invasion of the Home Snatchers: How the courts are helping bankers screw over homeowners and get away with fraud” appears in the current (11/25) issue of Rolling Stone, and is brilliant.
In the third hour of today’s show, Brent Budowsky – columnist for The Hill and Democratic Party insider who served as an aide to former Sen. Lloyd Bentsen and Bill Alexander, then chief deputy majority whip of the House – will weigh in on the state of our nation, and what will/can/should happen next.
