Today is the day that the Senate has its first vote on the long-discussed here, little-covered by the msm, Fast Track or Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) that the president knows he needs in order to pass the Trans-Pacific Partnership mega trade (and more) deal.
For those who still don’t understand the problem, take nine minutes and listen to Alan Grayson explain, via tradetreachery.org
This morning, I spoke with Greg Sargent who writes the Plum Line Blog at the Washington Post. Yesterday, he ran his interview with Elizabeth Warren about her objections to Fast Track and the TPP, and today he wrote about how Dems could sink the whole thing, how Hillary Clinton is avoiding stating her stance, and delved into FloriDUH territory too. We talked about all of it!
For some more background, check out David Dayen’s “The 10 biggest lies you’ve been told about the Trans-Pacific Partnership” at Salon. And if you haven’t yet done so, call your senators now to Just Say No!
It’s Tuesday, so GottaLaff joined in to add some levity to a serious situation…. radio or not!
