world-gone-mad

The world keeps turning and, sadly, we’re becoming more and more intolerant of “others.” Here in the US, some (mostly Republicans, but not all) are demanding we not welcome any Syrian refugees, even if they are tired, poor and huddled in masses, yearning to breathe free. Their answer? “Fuck off!”

That great “reasonable” Republican presidential wannabe John Kasich actually suggested that, as POTUS, he’d create a new government agency to “promote Judeo-Christian values.”

As part of a broad national security plan to defeat ISIS, Republican Presidential candidate John Kasich proposed creating a new government agency to push Judeo-Christian values around the world.

The new agency, which he hasn’t yet named, would promote a Jewish- and Christian-based belief system to four regions of the world: China, Iran, Russia and the Middle East.

“We need to beam messages around the world” about the freedoms Americans enjoy, Kasich said in an interview with NBC News Tuesday. “It means freedom, it means opportunity, it means respect for women, it means freedom to gather, it means so many things.”

He defended creating a new government agency at a time when fellow Republican presidential candidates discuss eliminating government agencies to making the government smaller.

“There’s nobody who’s spent more time shrinking government and cutting budgets than I have,” Kasich, the former head of the House Budget Committee said, adding that not all government programs are equal.

The list of states who are now saying they won’t take any Syrian refugees, not that they have any say in the matter, is now at 27.

And some of them are daring to say that we’ll let in the Christians, just not the Muslims! I shit you not.

In other news, the SEIU, the Service Employees International Union, the group that has been behind the #Fightfor15, the group that encouraged fast food workers to strike, endangering their livelihoods, promising to have their backs yesterday endorsed the one Democratic candidate who doesn’t support the $15 an hour minimum wage, preferring a $12 wage instead. Way to go SEIU. You no longer have my support. Union thugs, indeed. It’s all about the money.
