Go ahead and laugh all you want
I got my philosophy
And I trust it like the ground
That’s why my philosophy
Keeps me walking when I’m falling down

I see that there is evil
And I know that there is good
And the in-betweens I never understood
Would you look at me I’m crazy
But I get the job done
I’m crazy but I get the job done

So go ahead and laugh all you want
I got my philosophy
And I trust it like the ground
That’s why my philosophy
Keeps me walking when I’m falling down

— Ben Folds “Philosophy”

Funny that Rafael Cruz invoking “Philosopher Kings” over the heads of most in his party, and Marco Rubio pushing another fallacy (“Welders earn more than Philosophers”), making shit up as he goes along, prompted me to really listen to the lyrics of “Philosophy” by Ben Folds Five from their eponymous debut, and now I love it even more than I did before.

Today on the show, it was one more day with the gift that keeps on giving, the 2016 Republican presidential field.  In addition to some very funny takes on Tuesday night’s debate from The Daily Show, The Nightly Show and Colbert’s Late Show, Driftglass and Howie Klein both brought their own observations and credulity at what we witnessed in the “serious” debate.

From Trump not realizing that China isn’t one of the nations involved in the TPP, and adding insult to injury by claiming that US workers’ wages are “too high,” the hits just kept on coming.

Like Ben Carson extolling the virtues of slavery. Really.

Do yourself a favor, head over to DownWithTyranny.com and read everything. Then go over to driftglass.blogspot.com and do the same. Then listen at professionalleft.blogspot.com. You can thank me later.

Howie Klein told us that Chrissie Hynde has a new book out,  Reckless: My Life as a PretenderAs I attempt to contact the publisher to try to get another interview with her, I’ll play our first interview (from 1999) tomorrow for our Flashback Friday musical blast from the past to end the week. Julianna Forlano will join in too, radio or not!
