The news that Glenn Frey, co-founder of The Eagles, had died hit me hard yesterday. Coming so quickly after losing another creator of the soundtrack of my youth hit me hard. It’s tough to realize that these deaths will hit in increasing frequency and they’ll hit closer to home with each passing day.
Aging sucks. But the alternative is even worse.
Today was a veritable gabfest of Gliberal Goddesses™. In the first hour, I was thrilled to welcome ‘Blue Gal’ Fran Langum to the show! Before she became Mrs. Driftglass, Fran was blogging (she still does at her own blog at bgalrstate.blogspot.com), has long been a Crooks & Liars contributor (she was just upped to Associate Editor!), and she’s the executive producer of the Professional Left Podcast, which she also co-hosts with her husband Driftglass.
In the second hour, after a news update from Victoria Jones of the Talk Media News Service, it was the first official gathering of the Gliberal Goddesses™ of 2016 – when GottaLaff, Amy Simon and I shoot the shit about anything and everything.
Tomorrow – a very big Wednesday show. For the first hour, we focus on Florida or FloriDUH as I’ve come to know this state.
First up, Tim Canova, the very qualified candidate mounting the first real primary challenge ever to Debbie Wasserman Schultz will help me kick off the show. Then, a dip into the Oy FloriDUH files with Deborah Newell.
